Sarah Farmer

I am a certified play therapist and filial play coach registered with PTUK. I have experience of delivering both individual and group play therapy sessions with children aged 4-11 years old in mainstream primary schools. I have experience working with fostered and adopted children, as well as with children struggling with challenging behaviours and traumatic experiences. I am also a qualified teacher with 20 years teaching experience in both secondary and primary schools.

I am passionate about giving children the right therapeutic space and time to build a relationship to support their journey of growth and self-discovery enabling them to make positive changes in their life through the power of play.

As a Filial Play Coach, I work with parents and caregivers, empowering them to play with their children to strengthen their relationships. I have found this intervention to be very powerful for both the caregiver and child.

I am also a Trainee Supervisor and can supervise Certified Play Therapists as well as trainees. I can also offer supervision to Certified Filial Play Coaches and trainees.

I work primarily with children aged 4-13. I do not have a private practice; therefore, I travel to work with children in their educational setting. I am based in Edgmond, Shropshire, but I am also able to consider work in the West Midlands and Staffordshire.
